Our Commitment and Our Impact:

In 2024, Uplift Laundry Truck has committed to transforming lives by providing laundry security to thousands of low-income North Carolinians.

As we reflect on 2024, we are overwhelmed with gratitude.  This year has been a testament to the power of valuing the inherent dignity of all people; and the understanding that providing laundry security for those in need can change people’s lives. Uplift Laundry Truck (ULT) has expanded its reach throughout the Triangle Region, empowering communities in Durham, Wake, Orange, and Johnston County, North Carolina through your unwavering support.

From Our Regional Direct Laundry Service program, Monthly Free Laundry events, to our partnerships with local organizations, each initiative has been driven by our mission to improve people’s lives through the act of ensuring that they have clean clothes.  Each branch of our programming has helped improve the physical health, emotional health, and financial health of community members.

Local Organization Shared-Initiatives

ULT/OPEN TABLE MINISTRIES WASH CENTER

Throughout the summer of 2024, ULT purchased, installed, and operated a community wash center at Open-Table Ministries’ main site at Trinity United Methodist Church in Durham, NC.

As a result of this initiative, ULT provided laundry services and laundry supplies to Durham’s unhoused community for 12 weeks, every Tuesday morning. This initiative provided services to over 200 unhoused community members, grew ULT’s community outreach, and expanded our service impact via our Rapid Direct Laundry assistance program.

ONBOARDING OF WORLD RELIEF DURHAM TO ULT DIRECT SERVICE PROGRAM:

In December 2024, ULT began working with World-Relief Durham by onboarding the organization into the Rapid Direct Relief laundry service program.  Through this program, we have provided laundry financial assistance, laundry supplies and hygiene supplies to refugees from war-torn countries, including Sudan, Ukraine, and Afghanistan.
